Sheffield's smallest church?

St. Stephens Church of the Holy Spirit, Gifford Road.
There's quite a few Mosques, community centres and other 'gathering' places in the city that are housed in ex-shops and offices and the like, but never before have I seen a church in a terraced house.

Gifford Rd, just in between Chippinghouse Rd and Wolseley Rd, near the big Mosque :)

I went to this little church during my younger years.
Every Sunday to Sunday school and every Tuesday to the youth club.
I loved it and have never forgotten.
We always had a May Queen did maypole dancing and went to meersbrooke park. We also used to put on concerts, but I’m stretching my memory now and can’t remember where these concerts were. It can’t have been too far away as we used to walk there and I think it was some sort of home or hospital.(I remember the building was black)
Back in those days the church seemed really big, upstairs was a hall, a stage and a kitchen. I’m sure there wasn’t a downstairs, behind the door in the photo was a flight of stairs.
I was born at number 13 chippinghouse road, the first house up from Healy Bottom. Next door was a chip shop called I think, Mrs Archer?
I don’t know if this little church is still open but would love to go inside.
Carol
